Julie (Tremaglio) Lemos
 |
Julie studied acting at Moravian College and received a BA in English and Drama. She also studied at Allentown and Lafayette Colleges, as well as independently and with NEAT. Her grandfather and mother were some of her biggest influences when realizing her wanting to perform. Grandpa was somewhat musical and artistic and Mom did everything from drive her to endless rehearsals, make costumes and programs, even hang lights. In her adult life, Kris McMurray at the Cabaret, helped in her quest to be funny when much of college was geared toward serious drama. Famous influence would be Bette Midler. Julie has played a wide range of characters throughout her talented career like “Audrey” in Little Shop of Horrors, “Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme” in Assassins and “Alma” in Tennessee William’s Summer and Smoke. Julie’s debut at the Cabaret was Steel Magnolias playing “Shelby”. She then played other great roles such as “Cory” in Barefoot In The Park, “Gypsy Rose Lee” in Gypsy, “Sonia Walsk” in They’re Playing Our Song and many more. Her favorite musical is currently Rent, but she states that could change like the weather. Julie says there is so much about performing she loves, but if she had to pin it down to one or two things it would be first, the chance to be someone else inside and out for a couple of hours, and second, the nervous excitement leading up to those couple of hours. |
